About Me

DAVID PATRICK TROWBRIDGE: I live and work in Portland, Oregon. I started painting professionally and exhibiting my work after graduating from art school in 2003. My work is derived from nature, and my motive is to make fresh and simple paintings based on translating what I see. I compare my paintings to poems - they are short and to the point, with no extraneous information, and enough ambiguity to allow for viewer interpretation. My paintings are reflections of my place and time - representing the feeling of the Pacific Northwest using modern and often non-traditional materials.
